The Calm Before The Storm…
Get Your Umbrella Before It Pours…
Get Your Umbrella Before It Pours…
I have a confession to make ya’ll… I’ve had my eye on her for a while now, and every time I see her, I fall a little bit deeper in love with her. Everytime I see her, I want her a little more… I’ve been watching her from a far, but never had enough to tell or show her how much I love her… And honestly, it wasn’t until yesterday that I made up my mind to tell the world that I pledge my allegiance to her, NO MATTER WHAT THE COST… But something about her in this picture made me think to myself, I can’t hold it in anymore….
I LOVE SUPRA’S!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now All I have to do is ask Chad Muska for her hand in marriage, and I will let you all know when the wedding is…
Soooo… Taking after the big homie Amanda Lopez, I’ve decided to post up pictures. The pictures will be from moments off and on stage, and to top it off, I will give you 1,000 words about the picture (Don’t hold me to the count). I will try to let you know what was going on at the time of the picture, as well as before and after…
First Up….

Scene: This pictures was taken at UC Davis last semester on our College Tour when we did a show with Saul Williams, and Lyrics Born. The pic ran in the California Aggie (it’s the daily campus newspaper), so it was distributed on campus and online. Niiiiicee!! Press for ya main man!!! Anyway… We rocked in Freeborn Hall which is a pretty big venue. We had just done a couple other shows, and this one was one of the bigger ones that we were doing. UD Davis took good care of us, and filled our Contract Rider perfectly! We were rockin with two well respected people in the game, so we had a special glow about us that day.
Favorite Memory: Uprock… Hands down… UC Davis to date, has THE BEST crowd interaction during a show… Period… Sorry UOP!! I love ya’ll but, until you Uprock through the ENTIRE song, UC Davis has it!!! I remember we started off the song, and the energy just wasn’t right… So I called to Tofu to run the song back… And you know me, if the energy ain’t right, I WILL call people out (as a group, or individually). After I called them out, the energy went through the roof!! One word to describe it would be AMAZING!!
Funniest Moment: This moment has to be when I was on stage hyping the crowd during Skurges verse. I was on the left side of the stage, and I just happened to look over to my left, and I noticed S.O.L skipping like a little kid in his timbs, hella juiced, over to the right side of the stage. It wasn’t a girly skip or anything like that, it was that “I have more stage than I am used to and it’s taking me longer than usual to get to the other side” skip. You could genuinely tell he was enjoying himself in that moment. I completely felt him on that one because we’ve been on some SMALL ASS stages in our life, and anytime we have that type of room to move around is always a big change.
After The Show: I did what I always do which is sit at the merch table and connect with the people in the crowd. I feel like it gives me a chance to get to know the people who support the music, and share the same passion for it as I do. Anyway… I remember it was me and my younger brother Avery chillin at the table (who got hit on by one of the girls that came up to the table), and I’ll never forget the amount of people who came up to the table to buy CD’s and get them autographed (I always find it funny to autograph a CD because I feel like I’m just an average person TRYING to make it). People are coming up shaking my hand and telling me things like:
“If you guys were the only ones on the bill, I still would have been satisfied”
*Looking me dead in the eye HELLA seriously- “You guys keep doing what you’re doing… You WILL make it”
Overall: This was one of those moments that I’ll look back on in 10 years and still hold close.
Extra: That is PAINT on the leg of my jean for all of you out there wondering…
Rather than rambling off and saying too much, it is best to sit back and be silent. I’ve gotten the emails and text messages that you all have been sending about keeping you up to date through the blog… And to all of you I say this…
For it is in the silence that you can learn most about yourself and other people…
Ladies and Gentleman! Last night was a historic night for Righteous Movement! We were the recipients of the 2008 SN&R Award!!!!
The 2008 SN&R Award was only given to three artists in Sacramento. The award is to recognize the impact that each artists has had on the entire music scene in Sacramento, as well as the strides they take to promote Sacramento in every city that they touch.
<a href=”http://s60.photobucket.com/albums/h6/tais916/?action=view¤t=IMG_6005-1.jpg” target=”_blank”><img src=”http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h6/tais916/IMG_6005-1.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Photobucket”></a>
It feels great to be recognized for such a prestigious award, especially during our times of doubt. Sometimes it feels like the things we do are similar to trees falling in the forest with no one around to hear them, and getting this award let’s us know that the struggle is not in vain. Righteous Movement is a progression towards a better place in life, and awards like this prove that we are on the right track.
We would like to thank everyone who came out last night, and everyone who wanted to be there but couldn’t. We have been getting a lot of congratulations emails, text, and phone calls… And we want to say thank you to each and every one of you!
In the midst of the commotions, we didn’t get a lot of pictures, but we will be taking an official picture and posting it up for all you to see!!
We will also be having are official celebration party at Capitol Garage on Thursday, July 24, 2008. Please come out and celebrate with us! The accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you!! The show starts at 9pm and is $8 at the door. Please…. Be sure to get there early because this will be a huge show!!

From the good brotha’s over at Righteous Movement
Sooo… I’ve been reading this book called “A New Earth“, and in it, it talks about how people unnecessarily re-live the past by dwelling on it…. People let their past predict their future, and that we don’t truly live until we are able to let it… We all know these things… Right???
I mean… I read the books with this information in them, and try to apply it to my life, but… Just when I think I’ve got the hang of it… I reflect on situations or some thing comes up and I still find myself holding grudges, feeling sorry for things I’ve done, and wishing I would have done certain things different.
My question is, “Why is it so hard to practice those things?”
Some people say its human nature, and that’s just how things are…. And to them, I say… BULLSHIT!!
My bad… I’m just tired of hearing generalized excuses such as that one… I mean… We all know in the bigger picture we are all the same… But there is more than one way to get through things… You’re way of coping may be different from mine… All in all… I think a lot more problems could be solved if we stopped listening to the people who speak for the majority (therapist, doctors, ect) and listened to the average person…
So I ask you because I’m sure you have things you haven’t let go, or things that you wish you could do different…
How do you cope? How do you become peaceful with the past?
Peace all,
I’ve been in LA since Sunday night on a road trip / business trip (those are the best by the way). I’ve been trying to blog, but I haven’t set my blackberry up to berryblog yet, and I haven’t been by any working wireless since then.
Anyway.. I’m bumming wireless off the guy next door, so I have to make this quick. I’ve been having a blast down here. I finally made out to fairfax and touched all of the streetwear boutiques. If ya’ll didn’t know, I’m a huge ALIFE and Supreme fan, so those were the first stores I hit. Along that block you have other dope stores like: Hall of Fame, Flight Club, Diamond, and The Hundreds. Fairfax is the ons stop shop for fresh shit.
There is also a DOPE frames store called “Hotel Deville” where the homie Van sells vintage frames for your optics from ALL over the world. I’ve been into frames for a long while, so it was coo to talk to someone who was up on the game.
I know it should go without saying, but I may have some new readers, so I’ll say it… I hit Roscoe’s House of Chicken and waffles. It was nothing less than THE SHIT!!!!
I also hit a couple other spots that I will blog about later… I just wanted to give you something to read right now and check in with everyone and let them know how things are going….
*******
Best moment of the trip: I hit up my nigga VAS last night (as I always do when I’m down here) to check what he has his hands in… And after giving me about 8 options this cat responded with “I’m still waiting to hear back from Regg and Kim to see which one we’re gonna hit.” LOL! I love it! I’m glad to see my nigga’s move from Sacramento and make MAJOR moves in bigger cities. He is doing commercials, TV Shows, Movies, and aal that… Make sure you check him out and see what he has created ALL BY HIMSELF….
And on that note I say…
Get Up. Get Out. Get Righteous.
Peace…

Yo! Yo! Yo!
What’s going on people. I wanted you all to be the first to get the new music that is coming out of the Righteous Movement camp.
This is the first download of my mixtape “Truth Arises In Search”. The name of the song is “The Easy Way”. This song will also be the first track that I take you “Inside The Mind” and let you know what was on my mind when I was writing the song as well as everything I was experiencing at the time.
So listen up, and take notes. I want to know what you think when I post the “Inside The Mind” blog on monday to see if everything I was thinking was conveyed without me having to explain it.
Peace,
-TAIS

Sooo… With all the clutter in the Hip-Hop / Rap world right now, I’ve been thinking about things I can do to promote the music I make without having to whore myself out over myspace, or becoming one of those annoying people who send random messages telling you to “Peep my new shit yo!”.
I’ve decided to put my writing skills to use, and do a piece on the blog where I will take you all behind the music, and let you know the mind set I was in when I wrote the songs, and what I hope to convey through the song…
I am not sure if this will work, but it is worth a try… Hopefully you will listen to the music and respect the artistry more than if I just said, “Yo! Peep my new mixtape son!! It’s the new hot fire”!! Because despite perception people have of rappers, I don’t record music in hopes to promote myself and get rich…
A long time ago, I learned the universal healing power that good music has, and I wanted to mirror that power. I remember when I was a teen sitting in my room with thoughts of killing myself, and one of the only things that got me through was listening to song like Outkast’s “In Due Time“.
At a young age, I connected with music in a way others didn’t… I realized that good music could connect with the hearts and minds of humans, and I vowed (I literally stepped up on my bed) to try my best to keep the torch burning for generations that come behind me…
So, every rhyme I write is an attempt to tap into that power and connect to the spirit inside of a human being. Whether it be a deep and thoughtful piece or a rhyme to get the party moving, each piece written with the specific purpose to evoke certain emotions.
I can go on for hours, but I want to see what you all think of the idea. Leave me a comment and tell me your thoughts, or send me an email to let me know… If it gets a good review, I will start the series ASAP and take you through the songs that are going to be on my new mixtape “Truth Arises In Search“.
Peace ya’ll….
